AGENDA Long Beach Celebrates Its 10th Anniversary with Record Growth of Attendees, the Launch of AGENDA WMNS, AGENDA Emerge conference, AGENDA/GrindMedia’s “The Break” Lounge, BRA endorsement event and more.
AGENDA, the leading forum for action sports, surf, streetwear, lifestyle and footwear industries, had many reasons to celebrate their most recent flagship show, taking place last week at Long Beach Convention Center, July 25th and 26th. This year marked the 10th Anniversary of AGENDA and this show, the launch of many firsts. The launch of AGENDS WMNS—a neighborhood where Women’s dedicated brands united—as well as the premier “AGENDA Emerge” conference and debut of “The Break” with GrindMedia, which together attracted a record breaking number of attendees.
“Looking back at AGENDA’s humble beginnings, and now our ten year run, I want to take the opportunity thank all our brands and retailers for the continued support and sharing in our vision,” says Aaron Levant, founder of AGENDA. “Long Beach was the largest show in the history of AGENDA, showing a staggering over 40% increase in Retail and Distributor attendance. I can’t think of a better way to commerate our ten year run.”
AFTER THE BREAK:
A few AGENDA show retailers had feedback to share:
“For as busy as the Agenda show was, the show was easy to navigate. It was extremely well laid out and organized with a great product mix of surf/skate/street to include the tried and true as well as lots of new ideas and brands to engage! Separating the juniors mix was great and look forward to that area growing in the future. Dave Nash, Sun Diego
“The female brand representation and booth locations were remarkable! I felt a real girl power vibe and great energy.” Donica White, Karmaloop
On the brand side, John Wilson, President of Stance added “Guys, thanks for a great show! That was the best Agenda tradeshow we’ve ever had!”
Marking a lot of firsts for AGENDA, the show partnered with GrindMedia to create “The Break” lounge—a unique product media showcase on the tradeshow floor, where 20+ brand leaders, including the likes of Bob Hurley of Hurley/founder of Hurley, Pete Fox/CEO of FOX, Kelly Gibson/CEO of RipCurl, Kevin Bailey/CEO of Vans and Richard Woolcott/Founder of Volcom shared their brand DNA, a sneak peek at what’s new and divulged their industry insights, giving an insider look to a broader audience.
AGENDA and Herschel Supply Co. hosted a celebration dinner on Night One of AGENDA’s inaugural Vegas show. We honored longtime retail partnerships and influential tastemakers over copious amounts of amazing food at Nobu at the Caesar’s Palace.
Thank you for the continued love,
Agenda Vegas launched in Sin City at the Sands Expo at The Venetian/Palazzo Hotel. The show took the city by storm with over 9,000 retailers, just coming off the success of AGENDA Long Beach last month, which had a record-breaking over 40% retailer attendee increase.
“With the strong customer demand from our brands, we felt it was necessary to bring the AGENDA experience to Vegas,” explains Aaron Levant, AGENDA founder. “Many of the brands were unsatisfied with the existing shows in the current Vegas tradeshow landscape and over the past few years, have even stopped showing. It felt like the perfect timing for us to launch the show.”
AGENDA Vegas attracted music industry’s heavies and up-and-coming talent. Multi-platinum producer and singer Pharrell Williams represented his collection Ice Cream. Award-winning drummer and producer Travis Barker represented his brand, Famous Stars and Straps. The hip-hop world was in full flux, with co-founders of Cash Money Records, Bryan “Birdman” Williams and Ronald “Slim” Williams. Musical talents such as Big Sean, Bun B, Travi$ Scott, Jim Jones, and many more came to check out the show.
“Agenda Las Vegas creates an impressive and effective business experience for both brands and retailers. A very-well curated show,” said Jerry Meng of SSUR/Caviar Cartel.
From a buyer’s perspective, “A proactive approach such as Agenda’s is very unique,” downloaded Chris Kam of Kicks Hawaii. “I appreciate how easy Agenda is to navigate and how Agenda continually works closely with the brands and buyers to make sure everyone is doing business.”
Summing it all up was Do Kim of NY’s Reed Space, “Agenda did a great job of making me feel at home in Las Vegas. There was a great balance between familiar faces and brands, as well as new brands, exhibits, and activities (carnival was a great touch). The energy was great as usual, without taking anything away from the reason why we are all there, to do business with friends.”
